DIRECT 3D CONVERTER

This Converter writes models in the format used by Microsoft's Direct3D technology, known as ".X" files. It adds two entries to the conversion lists:

Direct3D Mesh .X
Direct3D Frame .X

Geometry
When saving to the first entry "Direct3D Mesh .X", all objects are merged into one object in a single .X file.

Saving to the "Direct3D Frame .X" format results in a single file that contains nested frames, one per object, representing the hierarchy. Objects are transformed to a local coordinate system to preserve rotational centers.

Materials attributes
Interchange materials and texture coordinates are translated to Direct3D materials. Per-face-point texture UV coordinates are translated, with only a single texture map reference allowed. Texture map filename extensions are changed to ".ppm".

Options dialog
The "Make MeshNormals" option sets whether these normals will be included in the file upon export. At this time, the polygon's outward normal is duplicated to the vertex normals, meaning this enforces flat shading.
